What If You Actually Let Yourself Want It?
Share
Sometimes the thing you want is not unreasonable.
It is simply something you haven't given yourself permission to want yet.
Maybe you want the house with the blue shutters. The business that actually excites you. The love that feels easy. The beautiful dress. The spontaneous trip. The life that looks a little different from the one everyone expected you to choose.
And maybe, somewhere along the way, you learned to make your wants smaller.
We get very good at talking ourselves out of things.
We call it being realistic.
We say, “Maybe later.”
“I don't really need that.”
“That's probably too much.”
“People will think I'm being selfish.”
“Who do I think I am?”
And sometimes these sentences sound so sensible that we forget to ask the most important question:
But what if I actually want it?
You are allowed to want beautiful things.
You don't need to justify every desire before you're allowed to have it.
You don't need to make your dream practical enough for everyone else to understand it.
You don't need to shrink the vision just because someone else can't see it.
Wanting more doesn't mean you're ungrateful for what you already have.
Wanting a different life doesn't mean your current life is a failure.
Sometimes desire is simply information.
It tells you something about what makes you feel alive.
Stop negotiating with your own dreams.
There is a difference between knowing something isn't possible right now and deciding it isn't possible for you.
One leaves the door open.
The other closes it before you've even tried the handle.
So let yourself imagine without immediately adding a disclaimer.
If money weren't the first question, what would you choose?
If nobody had an opinion, how would you live?
If you knew you couldn't fail, what would you finally admit that you want?
You don't have to know how to get there today.
You just have to be honest about where you'd like to go.
No shrinking. No explaining. Just wanting.
Maybe your dream is bigger than the life you're living right now.
Good.
That's not a problem to solve.
It's a possibility to explore.
Write it down. Say it out loud. Let yourself feel excited about it. Look at the places, the colours, the little details. Imagine what an ordinary Tuesday in that life would feel like.
Not because imagining is enough.
Because you can't move toward a life you won't even let yourself picture.
Let yourself want it.
You don't have to promise that you'll get everything you dream about.
You don't have to know when.
You don't have to explain why it matters.
For now, you can simply stop pretending you don't want it.
Sometimes that is where manifestation begins.
Not with certainty.
With honesty.
So go on.
Want the beautiful thing.
Want the bigger life.
Want the love, the freedom, the adventure, the home, the work, the mornings, the version of yourself you've been quietly imagining.
No shrinking. No explaining.
Just wanting.
And then, little by little, see what happens when you stop apologizing for the life that calls you.
